Thornton’s weekend weather takes a turn toward cooler temps, wetter conditions

It has been 25 days since Thornton last saw a measurable drop of rain. That should change, finally, this weekend.

Clouds are filling in this morning as a cold front moves in. Cloudy skies will dominate Friday and temps will reach only the mid-50s. The afternoon begins to offer up some chances for precipitation with showers becoming likely after about 4:00am and through much of the night. This won’t be a soaking event but it should provide at least some relief. Tonight, skies will be cloudy with the aforementioned showers. Lows will be in the upper 30s.

Saturday remains on the cool side with highs in the mid-50s. Mostly cloudy skies will be above. A few light showers / sprinkles will be possible throughout, mainly in the morning. Saturday night, mostly cloudy skies will be above with lows in the low 40s.

Sunday we begin to warm back up and dry out. Mostly sunny skies return and highs reach the upper 60s. The afternoon will bring just a slight chance for a shower.

Have a great weekend!
