A lot going on over the next 24 hours or so with a big dose of wintry weather set to arrive. We will, however, turn things around quickly by late tomorrow and through Sunday.

As we have been talking about, a potent storm is set to arrive delivering a good dose of snow. Skies will be cloudy with highs only around 33 degrees. Some light snow may be seen this morning but it is after noon and especially tonight that snowfall will increase. Moderate rates can be expected and the evening commute may be a rough one.

Current thinking is Thornton is likely getting 5 to 9 inches between now and tomorrow morning, maybe a bit more depending on how things play out. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until noon tomorrow.

Tomorrow, snow will start coming to a quick end by sunrise with only minimal additional accumulations expected in the morning. As temps warm, there may be some rain mixed in there. By the afternoon, we will see skies begin to clear and highs will reach the low 40s. Saturday night, skies will be mostly clear and conditions calm. Lows will dip to around 30 degrees.

Sunday sees a quick turnaround with dry, calm conditions and mostly sunny skies above. Highs will top out in the upper 40s helping to make quick work of melting the snow.
