International Space Station cameras capture video of Hurricane Isaac
On the surface of the Earth hurricanes bring destruction and oftentimes death with a ferocity unlike any other type of weather. Viewed from above however hurricanes seem almost tranquil and in some ways beautiful as is seen in new video of Hurricane Isaac from the International Space Station. Hurricane Isaac sets sights on Louisiana and Gulf Coast, landfall tonight
We now have the fourth hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic season as Isaac has strengthened prior to making landfall tonight. The National Hurricane Center says that Hurricane Isaac is packing Category 1 strength winds of 75mph. Landfall is expected tonight on the eve of the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Earthquake swarm hits southern California, most powerful measures 5.5

NASA satellites discover source of mysterious volcanic debris in South Pacific
While on a routine patrol late last week a New Zealand Defense Force patrol craft spotted a massive area of pumice floating in the South Pacific from an unknown source. Teaming up with NASA, volcanologists today pinpointed the source of a raft of debris covering thousands of square miles. Forecast calling for volcanic eruption, global super storm, Godzilla goes viral

Avalanche on Mont Maudit in French Alps kills 9, injures 11, 4 missing
A massive wall of snow let loose on a mountain Thursday in the Mount Blanc mountain range in the French Alps killing nine mountain climbers.
