Denver reaches 100 degrees for the second day in a row, notches another record high

No rest for the heat weary as temperatures once again soared today.

The official high temperature for the Mile High City, as measured at DIA, reached 100 degrees today. For the second day in a row, this sets a record high. The previous record high for June 16 was 96 degrees set in 2020.

Thornton was warmer than Denver today reaching 103 degrees. This ties the highest reading we have recorded at Thornton Weather since we came online 15 years ago. The previous 103 degree reading was on June 23, 2012.

The heat is on! The high pressure ridge that refuses to move continues to bring the heat and today put mercury readings in record setting territory.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the Mile High City’s official high temperature today reached 101 degrees. These easily topped the old record high for June 15 of 97 degrees set in 1951 and 1993.

Here in  Thornton, we were just a touch “cooler” with a high of 100 degrees.

Denver sets record high temperature for April 4

Following on yesterday’s record-tying mercury reading, Denver bested that with a record-setting high temperature today.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the Mile High City’s official high temperature reached 80 degrees. This easily breaks the previous record high for April 4 of 76 degrees set in 1959.

Here in Thornton, we were even warmer with a high of 81 degrees.

A beautiful day along the Colorado Front Range and one that has entered the record books.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the official high temperature today in the Mile High City topped out at 78 degrees. This tied the record high for April 3 set in 1943.

Here in Thornton, we were just a touch warmer with a high of 79 degrees.

Tomorrow looks to be a record-setter as well. The record high for April 4 is 76 degrees set in 1967 and years prior. With a forecast indicating highs near 80 degrees, that record will likely fall.

Denver sets record high temperature for November 4

Our mild weather continued today and set another record, the third in the past two days.

Officially, as measured at Denver International Airport, the high temperature today topped out at 77 degrees. This just beat out the previous record high for November 4th of 76 degrees set over 100 years ago in 1915.

Thornton was similarly warm but just a touch cooler, recording a high of 75 degrees for the second day in a row.

This mild weather has been quite nice but it certainly is not normal for this time of year with mercury readings well above average. The Mile High City saw two weather records tied or broken on Tuesday.

As measured at DIA, Denver saw a high temperature of 79 degrees. This tied the record high for November 3rd last set in 1915.

Additionally, a record high minimum was set as the low temperature only dropped to 48 degrees. This bested the old record of 46 degrees set in 1940.

Here in Thornton, we were cooler across the board with a high of 75 degrees and a low of 37 degrees.

Record High Temperature

Our recent warm weather not only impacts daily high temperatures, it also impacts overnight lows as seen by the record set tonight.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the Mile High City saw a low of 67 degrees. This set a record high minimum for the date, beating the old mark of 66 degrees set in 1933.

Here in Thornton, we were quite a bit cooler seeing a low of 56 degrees.

Additionally, Denver’s official high temperature came in at 97 degrees. This tied the record high for September 6, last set in 2013. Thornton was actually hotter with a high of 99 degrees.

Multiple high temperature records broken on September 5

Record High Temperature

While snow and cold are on the horizon, that will wait and until then, we continue to experience extraordinarily warm weather. Today, September 5, Denver actually broke three records.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the high temperature topped out at 101 degrees. This easily bested the record high temperature for the date of 98 degrees set just last year.

Additionally, the 101 degree reading is the warmest temperature ever recorded in Denver during the month of September. Only one other time has it been 100 degrees or warmer in the month, that coming on September 2, 2019 with a 100 degree reading.

Lastly, this is the latest in the year a 100 degree or higher reading has been recorded.

Here in Thornton, we managed to stay just a bit cooler with a high of 99 degrees.

Denver ties record high temperature for August 24

Record High Temperature

Another hot day on the Colorado Front Range and Denver sees another record high temperature.

As measured at Denver International Airport, the Mile High City’s official high temperature hit 98 degrees. That ties the record high temperature for the date set in 2011. This is the sixth time this month that Denver has tied or broken a daily high temperature record.

Here in Thornton, we were just a hair cooler with a high of 97 degrees.
